I have just found out there has been gold sitting in Ballarat. I attend to go there with my family and try to find some gold. Boat would be the easiest way to get there but its expensive I would need to get some money quick.
July 4th 1853 Ireland
There is a boat living tonight and even thow everyone gave me money for the ticket
We still only could afford one I couldn’t tell my family this I was to ashamed.
That night I left a note saying ……….. by the time you read this I will be on a boat to Ballarat I promise I will strike gold and we will all be rich together from Charles Brownsteam.
August 17th 1853: I have been on the boat for over a month and have just reached Port Adelaide.
The people that were on the boat and I started walking to Ballarat
August 30th 1853 Ballarat: I have just reached Ballarat I got my pickaxes and started digging. A few hours later the police men start walking to me I did not have any money for a licence. I was frozen with shock, i was a gonna for sure. suddenly a guy starts to run away making sure the police see him. The police men run after him yelling out "SHOW US YOUR LICENCE!"The man stops and shockenly pulled out his licence to show them. The police men asked him "why did you run away?" The man replied ' i was just going a daily jog". The police go away and the man walks over to me. I thanked him for getting the police men off me. He offers to buy some tea for me and i say yes. Later that day i leave the tea tent with him. I told him my story about leaving my family with no money at all. Strangly he hands me 1/2 oz of gold for flour and mutten. I thanked him. He said a quick good bye. I headed over to my hotel and went to bed.
August 31st 1853
I woke up and walked to the shop tent to buy some mutton but there was a lot of commotion around the tent. Every one seemed to be looking at the same thing on the ground; I decided to see what it was. I pushed thru the crowd to find the guy that brought me tea yesterday stabbed in the back with a knife I was shocked.
I rushed to his tent to find some clues. Two houses later I found a piece of paper, it was plans for a rebellion attack he called it the eureka stockade. I herd some voices coming my way; I decided to hide behind the tent with the paper to hear who it was. I herd the chef of police speaking to one of the police
